The Crescent Moon... The First Quarter Moon... What I Did For Love...

Photo taken during the Solar Eclipse, 20th March, 2015

Wow! I do not know if it is because we are in the midst of Eclipse Season but I am feeling everything really intensely lately; the good, the bad and the ugly, or so they are called. I have found it is best for me to think of what I feel, think and experience in terms of alignment, non-alignment, resistance and acceptance rather than in terms of good and bad.

At the conclusion of the New Moon Solar Eclipse last week I felt very calm. After a couple of weeks of super intense energy building up it was a welcome relief, but yesterday everything become intense for me again. I feel it is resistance to what needs to be processed and resistance to what is in alignment, but because of old scars, all feels like too much to embrace in some moments!!! From what I have read and heard from others, there is more of the same out there for many, even if we are feeling it on different days.

At the New Moon seeds are planted for the New Lunar Cycle and beyond. This most recent New Moon was a total eclipse and proceeded the Equinox, a powerful time when light and dark, night and day, are experienced as equal on Earth.

As the Moon moved into its Crescent Phase, New Moon post-eclipse calm subsided as what was released at New Moon arose to challenge the old, "in a more or less intense struggle." (Dane Rudhyar, "The Lunation Cycle," 1967) My experience has been a more intense struggle this Lunar Cycle. It is not so much an outer struggle but an inner one.

Since the New Moon Eclipse I have been thinking about WHAT I DID FOR LOVEMany years ago I went through a very challenging time and what pulled me through was my belief in my purpose for being on Earth; to serve no matter how painful the experience for me personally, because I loved this planet and everyone on it. Since then I have come to appreciate that my purpose is more about being all that I am; Here; NOW! I feel that is everybody's purpose. We need only be who we are, we need only do what brings us fulfillment and peace and/or joy. When we are fulfilled, present and embodying all we are, we are Sacred Pagodas, as a matter of course. Sacred Pagodas hold space for others, simply by being. No self-sacrificing pain required.

Sacred Pagoda

Instead of feeling fulfilled I have felt drained through giving away parts of myself without acknowledgement from those receiving them, or even awareness, let alone gratitude, or so it sometimes has felt. By the same token I have probably taken something in return, without acknowledgement, or gratitude, or awareness. I am truly deeply sorry.

In the last blog I wrote about tough love, the importance of ending martyrdom and the need to be needed, and drawing on and anchoring our own truth through connection with our personal body of experience. The last few days as I have tried to release old patterns I have been brought face to face with old hurts and scars, ancient hurts and scars. I thought I had processed them but here they are again. Perhaps you can relate.

The belief systems coming up to be reviewed/released now, in order for the New to take root and sprout, were established on foundations lined with these hurts and scars still operating within our beings on some level. The belief systems are not necessarily "wrong." They may just need to be re-potted, or weeded rather than ripped out, but in order for the next step to be clear the old hurts and scars must be processed first. As the words to the song in the link above say, "stitch myself and we do it again," but we do not want to do it again if it means stitching ourselves up. If there is something worth repeating we need to be free and fulfilled simultaneously.

Any intense struggle now, internally or externally, is so we can consciously choose to nurture the viable and potentially life-fulfilling shoots at First Quarter Moon, which we seeded at New Moon, in the soil we are making fertile through our processing and healing or releasing of our hurts and scars at the Crescent Moon. The First Quarter Moon begins at 6:42 am UT/GMT, Friday 27th March. I am writing this blog entry during the Crescent Moon Phase. At the very least we need to become consciously aware of what is still hurting within us so that we may work through it in the perfect moment, whenever that may be experienced. In the perfect moment, when we offer no resistance, miracles happen.

I was asked yesterday what was going on with me?  My answer went something like this: "I am resisting feeling my intense feelings. Resisting is bringing up the past. The past has some hurts I don't want to re-live. I am all shook up. Thanks for asking." In truth it was a perfect moment and that conversation helped me appreciate that if I just allow myself to feel intensely, without trying to control anything, without resisting anything, a miracle would happen. It kind of did. A little energetic treasure and personal breakthrough. I brought in a little bit more of myself. Today I am sitting with the awareness of my little shift. My way of dealing with a few things going on around me has shifted. I can feel the waves of change this creates and I'm standing strong in it for a change, really anchoring it rather than being swept away by the resistance of others.

As we move into First Quarter Moon Phase, what do we want to nurture into maturity? What needs to be released or healed? It can be a battering process but the creations that will take root and grow deeper roots and reach for the sky are worth rising to the challenge. They will support our new foundations. We will become unshakable in our truth, no matter what is flung at us, consciously or unconsciously. When we start to anchor beside each other, together in our personal truths, we create bridges or foundations that cannot be eroded, like these trees in Avebury, England, pictured below. Perched on a mound, the roots of these trees prevent the Earth beneath them from eroding. This further elevates them as the gullies either side of them deepen with weathering.

About 10 years ago I was inspired by the words of a healer/clairvoyant who said to me as I was leaving a session, "Lay down your piece first. Stop allowing yourself to be squeezed into places of other people's choosing. Be all that you truly are." I wrote the following words in a poem in 2008:

Lay it down first
That puzzle piece that's you
Squeezing into spaces left
Is an unwise thing to do
As valuable as anything
That piece uniquely you
So lay down your piece first
To yourself you should be true

Click to read the rest of Lay It Down First.

Onward we go. Our choice lies in what we take with us and what we choose not to take into the new, but remember, what no longer serves us will become increasingly difficult to hold onto, and what we resist embracing about ourselves will persist until we own it.

Our path will continue to narrow in terms of alignment and grow more intense in terms of vibrancy and frequency - eventually there is only room for our truth anchored within our own being. The wonderful and perhaps miraculous thing is that when we embody this, there is "space" beyond anything we could have imagined.

I am reminded of Patrick Swayze's line in Dirty Dancing, "Look, spaghetti arms. This is my dance space. This is your dance space. I don't go into yours, you don't go into mine. You gotta hold the frame."

No more spaghetti arms. No more taking what isn't ours or giving away parts of ourselves. Time to hold the frame. Let's dance. LOVE!!!

Super Power Time: An Opportunity to Re-forest and Create Anew

Super Power Time: An Opportunity to Re-forest and Create Anew
Happy New Astrological Year, Pisces New Moon Total Solar Eclipse, Aries/March Equinox, Bridging with the Celtic Lunar Moon Sign of The Alder Tree and Integrating Our Whole Being

The March/Aries Equinox marks the beginning of Spring in the northern hemisphere and the beginning of the Western Astrological Calendar/Zodiac! This year a total Solar Eclipse occurs in the last degree of Pisces, thirteen hours before the Equinox, charging the new with super power!

Pisces New Moon and Total Solar Eclipse: 20th March, 2015 at 9:36 am GMT/UT

Vernal Equinox (Northern Hemisphere): 20th March, 2015 at 10:45 pm (22:45) GMT/UT

The New Moon Eclipse and the Aries Equinox mark the beginning of new cycles; the monthly Lunar Cycle and the yearly Solar Cycle respectively.

Aries begins at the March Equinox. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and the first day of Spring in the northern hemisphere. The symbol for Aries is the Ram. This year also happens to be the Chinese Year of the Ram. This can be seen as supercharging Aries energy.

Aries is the will to exist, the life-force. First there is nothing (Winter). Then there is something (Spring). Out of seemingly nowhere, life bursts forth, claiming its place. Aries represents the ability of the will to triumph over any obstacle, doubt or intimidation.

Most of us celebrate the New Year and make New Year’s resolutions on January 1st the first day of the Gregorian Calendar. Energetically and symbolically the Vernal Equinox is a far more supportive and powerful time to set the tone for a new year, to leap into a new cycle and new projects and ideas.

The month of Aries is a time which supports new beginnings, new ways of being and a new world where living our dreams becomes possible. With Aries supporting us, success is likely because “all that binds the Ram’s attention is the power of the will to shape a life” of its own will. (Steven Forrest, "The Inner Sky")

Demetra George published a couple books in the 1990s about the Dark Goddesses and the Dark Phase of cycles: "Mysteries Of the Dark Moon" and "Finding Our Way Through the Dark." In the case of the Lunar Cycle, the Dark Phase is the Balsamic Moon Phase, the few days before the New Moon. Demetra George explains that the month leading up to the Winter Solstice is a Dark Phase, every Cycle has a Dark Phase including every Astrological Cycle and the Menstrual Cycle.

A Dark Phase is a time to turn within, review the cycle and prepare to birth the new. In the case of the Solar Cycle, according to Western Astrology, the time of Pisces is the Dark Phase of a Cycle which begins each year at the March Equinox, when light and dark are equal and Winter becomes Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

Solar Eclipses are only possible at a New Moon, when the Sun and Moon are conjunct, or at the same degree of the zodiac. Friday's New Moon is in the last degree of Pisces, the last sign of the Zodiac. Thirteen hours later the Sun moves into Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac. In a sense, the total Solar Eclipse bridges the old and new solar cycles.

This solar cycle's dark phase ends with a total solar eclipse. What a blast to power up the new and blast out of the old!!! This Eclipse is an especially powerful time to review what we would like to carry forward into the new and what we should or must leave behind.

Eclipses are powerful energetically. The full effects or outcomes of themes and events triggered and precipitated by eclipses are usually not experienced until four months or so after the eclipse. An eclipse season includes one lunar and one solar eclipse, though there is sometimes a third eclipse in a season.

Each eclipse pair (a solar and Lunar eclipse in the same season) belong to the same family of eclipses or Saros Cycle. The March 20th Solar Eclipse at 29° Pisces and the April 4th Lunar Eclipse at 14° Libra belong to Saros Series 17 South. This family of eclipses, says Bernadette Brady in her book "The eagle and the Lark", brings sudden success in personal relationship matters and group projects. Thinking of matters of love, Happiness in love, good news concerning relationships or creative expression with a group are all associated with this eclipse family.

The New Moon is always a great time to plant seeds for the future by making a few New Moon wishes. Here are some Pisces wish suggestions adapted from the work of Jan Spiller:

“I want the tendency to use sleep as an escape totally lifted from me”; “I want to consciously and consistently feel joyful and fulfilled”; “I want to nurture gentleness so that it becomes a stronger part of my being”; “I want to surrender all anxieties into the hands of a healing higher power”; “I want to effortlessly find myself focused on the inner peace of my own true nature”; “I want to feel love and compassion for ______”; “I want to totally release the habit of playing the victim in my life”; “I want to successfully restore my immune system to perfect health and beauty.”

In preparing to write this blog the last few weeks I have had many inner discussions about many ideas. I wondered how I could bridge old worlds and new worlds. I wondered what information I could find to make this more interesting for me to write and for others to read. There are thirteen new moons, two eclipse seasons and one solar cycle each year. It can feel a bit same-same even though it is anything but same-same, especially in the times we are living in now.

Energies are wild just now. It feels as though anything could happen at any moment.

What can we use to seed the new, anchor the new into our beings and bridge the old and new worlds many of us still feel split between? In Celtic Astrology, both this New Moon Solar Eclipse and the Vernal Equinox happen in the same Celtic lunar sign of the Alder Tree. Like Aries, the planetary ruler of the Alder tree month is Mars (though another source listed Neptune as ruler), but in Celtic Astrology, the Vernal Equinox falls in the fourth month of the calendar, not the first.

I was looking for a bridge and it turns out that due to its water-resistance, the timber of the Alder tree was traditionally used in bridge-making. In fact, it was used to build the water-covered foundations of the city of Venice. When immersed in water the timber of the Alder tree turns hard as stone.

Medicinally Alder bark was used to treat, among other things, inflammation and stiffness. Alder remedies enable us to move forward with flexibility and face up to what we have been avoiding.

The Alder tree produces strong coloured red and yellow dyes and was associated with the art of fabric making and the goddesses of spinning. Spinning new worlds...

The pith of the Alder's green shoots are easily pushed out to make a whistle. Different length shoots bound together can make an instrument traditionally used to entice the Air elements. The superstition of "whistling up the wind" began with this tradition.

The Alder tree protects physically, emotionally and spiritually. The Celts associated the Alder tree with both weapon and shield making and so it teaches when to take up the sword and when to take up the shield. The most important aspect of the warrior is intent. This is the key to success or failure. The Alder tree teaches the need to blend courage and strength with generosity of spirit and compassion. Most of us are not wielding swords and carrying shields into battle but Alder tree teaches discrimination and the need to see beneath the surface of things so we may know when to challenge things and when to hold our peace.

The Alder tree is light in appearance but is strong. Like many trees, it is linked with the creation of humans. Irish legend says that the first man was made from an Alder tree and the first woman was made from a Rowan tree. This supports my belief that our deepest and truest essence is karmically, physically and spiritually linked with trees.

Alder tree sign's symbols are the pentacle and the hawk.

The Alder tree is noted for its important symbiotic relationship with a filamentous nitrogen-fixing bacterium called Frankia alni. The bacterium absorbs nitrogen from the air and makes it available to the Alder. The Alder provides the bacterium with sugars produced through photosynthesis. This mutually beneficially relationship improves the fertility of the soil where the Alder grows. The Alder is a pioneer species, which provides nitrogen rich soil to successional species, and as such Alder is often planted to re-colonize land with poor soil. It grows well from seed but only lives for sixty years or so.

In Celtic Astrology the Vernal Equinox represents the equinoxial line of the moral world which is occupied by humans in their present life. This is an important line, "the line of liberty," which symbolizes humanity's free-will. The Autumnal Equinox is its polarity and represents another aspect of free will.

"The Druids believed that humans occupied a tentative position above the animal kingdom whose species cannot innovate or improve their condition, but are bound by the rules of an unerring law called instinct or "Greddy."" (Helena Patterson, "The Handbook of Celtic Astrology") Due to our intelligence, humans occupy a narrow line of liberty or spiritual existence, but we still belong to the "animal circles of transmigration" called "Abred" and as such we are still subject to "trials" under the Druidic system of evolution.

The Druidic two serpents double-spiral symbol represents the Equinox days. These days, in ritual zodiac, were times of balance or a state of equilibrium on Earth and in the Heavens.

It feels as though the lead-up to this Equinox is a weighing of the scales of balance and accountability for human action and inaction. It is an opportunity to see more clearly where we need to find balance, both within and out in the world. The old structures are falling. We are called to create something New but there is work to do. There is a lot of work to do and if we want to contribute and realize our potential we must wake up fully and see what is within us, right before us, and further beyond. We must take action.

The Equinox combined with New Moon seeding and wish time is an opportunity to sew seeds for the new by drawing on the characteristics and lessons of the Alder Tree. We can re-forest and create anew through symbiotic relationships that create fertile soil and strong foundations for future generations. With Alder tree seeds we can sew seeds of strength, discernment, compassion, flexibility and courage and face what needs to be faced, and do what needs to be done.

Demetra George proposed in the 1990s that the Goddess, as a cycle, is in a Dark Phase and has been for thousands of years; ever since the decline of Matriarchal societies and the rise and dominance of Patriarchy. She feels that the New Goddess Cycle will begin soon. Perhaps it is beginning now...

Last week I had a dream about the New Moon. A blood red colour splashed across the darkened part of the Moon. It was not the Sun's light causing the colour change. The Moon is only able to reflect a slither of the Sun's light at the New Moon. It was coloured light from another source. I have been pondering its meaning every since.

This dream ties in with some visions I had over fifteen years ago. I saw blood-coloured moons, eclipses and worlds beings destroyed. During that time whenever I heard the song "Silence" by Delerium ft. Sarah McLachlan I would hear "burn her" being chanted in-between the lyrics.

Now I can listen to any version of the song without hearing "burn her," but it took many years to release the pattern at the root of the chanting. I believe it was a painful memory from the time of the burning of the witches. Perhaps the memory goes back thousands of years to the time of the rise of patriarchy and decline of goddess worship.

I watched the original official video clip for "Silence" for the first time yesterday. The video ties in with my interpretation of the blood-red New Moon dream. A woman and man are tied together, his right arm to her left arm and they are running. They both take the lead at different points, both stumble at different points, but they must run together because they are tied together. Only at the very end of the clip is the rope untied.

These dream and vision fragments, the video clip and "imagined" chanting are part of a larger story; the story of Goddess and God; woman and man. Their stories are intertwined. Both have led, both have fallen. Now as the New Goddess Cycle begins, or is about to begin, what will we re-vision? What will we choose to repeat?

Many say it is time for the goddess to take over, but is it wise to believe that Matriarchy would be better than Patriarchy? We tried that some millenia ago and there were women and matriarchal societies who abused their power and controlled men. Perhaps there is a third way, a path of integrating goddess and god...

AN represents the sacred union of Sun and Moon as one being. Since I was young I have felt that God and Goddess/woman and man must be able to stand side by side as equals if there is ever to be balance and harmony on this planet; And we must integrate the many facets of our beings to find inner balance and harmony to be able to stand side by side as equals. As within, so without. AN is a way to align, to re-vision, to integrate, to live in oneness. You can read about Solara's vision of manifesting the physical Heart of AN here

One of the colours of AN is magenta. In my dream the blood-red colour that was being projected onto the Moon's dark face turned magenta. I am choosing to interpret this as a healing vision rather than one of gloom and doom; From blood-shed and fear to love, wholeness and oneness.

It is time to finally leave behind the old story and old world and create something new. It is time to finally heal the wounds of our falls from grace, in which ever way we lived them, and allow ourselves to be renewed. It is time to finally own what we have denied and suppressed; Whether it be our power or our shame, or both. It is time to finally heal and release wounds in the collective; wounds from past cataclysms, genocide, witch burning... the list goes on and while many shocking things continue, healing and releasing the past is the only way to do it differently in the new. Creating from our fractured wounded beings is very different from creating from our whole healed beings.

We must allow ourselves to face and heal through owning/releasing what is rising from shadow parts of self into our awareness. The shadow is merely what we suppress and deny. When we bring these shadow parts into the light of our awareness and see that a whole being contains light and dark and the mysterious/hidden as well as the known we begin truly integrating all aspects of our being.

This super power time is an opportunity for powerful healing, release and personal transformation. For some of us it will be a shock to realize that we have not done our own work.  We may be able to talk the talk but if it is not rooted in our being because we have not been walking the walk and addressing our "stuff," we will be stumbling and desperately grasping for anything to hold onto now. The great news is that we can do our "stuff" nearly instantly under current energies, we need only be honest and real with ourselves and then, as if by magic, CLICK, everything we dream becomes possible!

It is becoming increasing clear who is all talk and glamour and who is real. It is also time to stop piggy-backing the talkers. No more enabling and feeding them our energy, knowledge and wisdom. No more saviours and martyrs. That was so last AGE. It is time for what may seem like tough love so the talkers can discover within themselves, their energy, knowing, intuition and capacity to gain self-knowledge and wisdom through their own body of experience. It is time for the enablers to stand on their own as well; to learn how to BE without thriving on being needed.

True healers and teachers need only be who they are. Have you noticed those people who you walk away from feeling good and more balanced and maybe thinking about something in a new way? Did you notice they felt good too? They are the natural healers and teachers who have faced their stuff. They may not practice a healing modality or teach anything "special" but they may, or they may be the housewife next door, an old friend, the waiter, the school crossing guard, the old man walking his dog... Shared pearls of wisdom but not preaching, gentleness, compassion, integrity, humility, holding space for others to make their own choices are some of the shining qualities the natural true healers and teachers exhibit.

Well here we are, we have been waiting for this moment for AGES!!!
Let's do what needs to be done!!!
Into the New!!!

Last Quarter Moon: In Love and Perfect Time

The Last Quarter Moon is exact at 17:48 UT/GMT, Friday 13th March, 2015. The Moon is in Sagittarius, squaring the Sun in Pisces. Energetically squares create tension. The Moon is waning. Light and dark are equal, but light is declining. The Moon is in a position which allows only half of it to reflect the light of the Sun. The Lunar Cycle is in her last quarter and we begin preparing for a retreat and the new cycle.

How are you feeling and what are you thinking about? What are you experiencing declining, waning, losing power or dying within you? What is remaining stable? What has roots to weather the tension, even a great storm? Only what is rooted within our core being and in alignment with our truth will remain. The rest will gently fall away or blow up in our faces.

I am writing this while the Moon is still in her Disseminating phase, approaching her Last Square and Balsamic/dark face. This morning, on my way to a friend's house for tea and meditation, I requested some insight into what I should write about for this Last Quarter Moon blog.

I have been feeling pretty clear and calm the last couple of days, but the moment I asked it was like a storm very unexpectedly erupted within me. Energy began to whirl and thoughts began to race. None of it made much sense. Perhaps it was personal, perhaps not.

Chatting over tea was lovely but when we started our mediation I could not settle at all. Usually I get into the space easily even if my mind is active for a while. Today was very different for me. My stomach gurgled. The energy in my head and solar plexus swirled and poked all over the place. There were no thoughts, just one question: How would we know when to stop? We had a time constraint. I decided that the answer would appear.

Turned out quite a few answers appeared in the following few hours.

Just as my friend was stirring from her meditation a voice announced a countdown...10... 9...8... We looked at each other and laughed!!! Her son's rocket toy had spontaneously turned itself on, in perfect time. This reminded me that my television has been spontaneously turning itself on the last week. One day it might turn itself on 3 or 4 times in an hour, the next it doesn't turn on by itself at all. I am still waiting to see if there is something deeper I need to understand. The answer will appear in perfect time, perhaps when the right question is asked.

We meditate beside my friend's altar. She had a very pretty white feather on her altar today which I commented on. Apparently there had been two but one had vanished. We discussed an issue that required some clarity. I looked down and spotted a feather. It wasn't the missing feather, but a third white feather which had found its way into the room, as feathers sometimes do. My friend said she had seen it earlier but had not really registered, so had not picked it up.

What really hit me in that moment was timing. There is a time and season for all things, even things which are right under our nose. When we push for answers and results, we only make life harder for ourselves. Answers always come in perfect time.

Early in January I noticed two fallen trees in the forest nearby my house. They had been uprooted in a storm and one had landed on top of the other, forming a cross; An intersection; A symbolic cross road. What I found amazing was that the trees fell between many other tress without damaging them, and the distance between the two trees on either side of the intersection point is less than 2 meters. I found this amazing. Perfect placement. I had many ideas about what this might mean symbolically. I am still undecided.

Two days ago I saw a man with a tractor looking at the logs. My heart sank knowing that their time was over. Yesterday I saw that the logs had been chopped up. I could not bring myself to take a photo. I knew that a dream was dying, a perfect moment had passed, an opportunity had been missed. Today I know the logs will have been moved and stacked by the side of the path for removal. Soon they will be taken to be made into wood-chips or something else. One thing becomes another. This is part of the process of a cycle.

And this is what happens as the Moon wanes from Last Quarter to dark moon and we prepare for a new cycle; Wishes and dreams, hopes and ideas that do not have strong roots and are not in alignment with us will fade, or die, or be removed, or blow-up in our face; In perfect time.

We can mourn, we can cry, we can even celebrate what has not come to pass. We can do whatever we need to do. Some things will have strong roots and will remain. We can celebrate or mourn this too.

I will walk in another part of the forest today. A shift must be made, a new way of doing things found. I will take that step symbolically but I expect change in the outer world will come slower, or certainly in perfect time.

Likely I will retreat for the next week; In preparation for the new Astrological and Lunar cycle; which begins with the Aries Equinox. The Equinox is preceded by a New Moon Solar Eclipse in the very last degree of the zodiac, 29° Pisces. Super Power Wish time, but more about that next week.

In the meantime I want to say that the coming Solar Eclipse belongs to a beautiful family of Eclipses. The March 20th Solar Eclipse at 29° Pisces and the April 4th Lunar Eclipse at 14° Libra belong to Saros Series 17 South. This family of eclipses, says Bernadette Brady, brings sudden success in personal relationship matters and group projects. Thinking of matters of love, Happiness in love, good news concerning relationships or creative expression with a group are all associated with this eclipse family.

As the song that was playing in my head yesterday says, Don't Believe the HYPE! The gloom and doom reportedly expected at the Solar Eclipse in a couple of articles I have read is not supported by the astro-energies of the coming Solar Eclipse. Let us consciously release and close the old cycles with LOVE, not fear. Let us consciously seed the New Astrological Year and Lunar cycle at the New Moon Solar Eclipse/Equinox on March 20th with LOVE.

Into the NEW with LOVE!!!

Full Moon in Virgo: Unlocking Hidden Wisdom, Integration and the "Right To Be Wrong"

The Virgo Full Moon is exact at 20:05 (pm) GMT/UT on Thursday 5th March, 2015.

I really don't know what I expected to feel at this full moon, but not this. And yet, it makes perfect sense upon further reflection.

Since re-starting my astro-energy blog a few weeks ago I have paid extra close attention to the moon. In my efforts to better understand cycles generally and find a healthy outlet for my cyclic nature and sensitivity to psychic, mental and emotional imprints as a Cancer ascendant and Moon in the first house native, writing about lunar cycles was an obvious choice. So here I am writing my first full moon blog feeling quite frankly, a bit stretched and strange.

The Moon is fully illuminated in the sky now. Full Moon marks the completion of half a Lunation Cycle which began at New Moon about two weeks ago. We planted seeds at New Moon which have taken root and grown. Perhaps these seeds were consciously made wishes. Perhaps we were busy and didn't notice what we were processing leading up to New Moon, but processing and the planting of ideas and hopes and dreams we were doing none the less.

At Full Moon, we are able to see more clearly the form or vehicle we have created through which we are to express the vision or wish seeded at New Moon. The metaphorical tree is reaching towards the sky. Will our trees bare the fruit of our wishes? We are being asked if our foundations are solid; our roots stable? Did we plant seeds in fertile soil? Does it matter? 2015 is the International Year of Soil. I think soil matters.

I feel a bit like a portal between worlds as well as the worlds on either side of the portal. On one side is the shadow/dark. Here I can feel shame and a lack of self-worth. This is strong solar plexus energy stuff. This makes sense now I am thinking about it; Virgo rules assimilation and the solar plexus and has archetypal associations with purity. On the other side of the portal is a lighter better integrated state of being. It is shame-free and colourful. As I write, the lyrics to Joss Stone's Right To Be Wrong are drifting towards me from the radio in my kitchen. Right on!!!

"The Moon has a face like the clock in the hall; She shines on thieves on the garden wall." ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

Just as under the midday Sun there is no shadow, the Full Moon illuminates all. No matter how hard we try and hide our "stuff" it will find some way to attract our attention under the influence of the Full Moon, especially when this stuff has the potential to be the saboteur of the manifestation of our wishes.

Disowned "stuff" is the thief of inner-peace, harmony and purity of experience. There will be evidence in the material if we are out of alignment with our inner-peace. Anything that triggers our solar plexus, anger, mind racing with thoughts, indigestion and other uncomfortable experiences indicate something we need to bring into our conscious awareness. There may be other valid reasons for our uncomfortable experiences but more often than not these triggers and reactions are clear indicators that there is something which needs to be addressed.

With Virgo in play the energy drive is to assimilate and purify. Resistance to this process may be felt in the solar plexus region and digestion may be affected. An over-active, restless mind might be keeping you awake at this time. Try and use these restless times to process and digest what you are being shown through the themes of your thoughts. Notice how your body is feeling. This will help you stay present as you observe and process.

Further burying any shame or feelings of lack of self worth whether it be for mistakes made, misunderstandings, perceived inabilities or any known or unknown reason - past or present - only pollutes the soil in which our metaphorical tree is planted. Our dreams and wishes need to be nourished; As do the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of our beings. How can we nourish ourselves when we are self-polluting with the "stuff" we are unable to face in ourselves. How can we manifest our wishes if we are not working to keep our soil healthy, our roots nourished?

The Full Moon is a Lunar and Solar opposition and so "the other," as well as "the self," comes into focus. How can we expect others to be honest and true with us if we are not being honest and true with ourselves, or worse, blame others for our shame or the situations that trigger feeling our lack of self-worth? This lunar cycle's New Moon was in Aquarius. Aquarius looks for win-win ideas and solutions. This is something worth keeping in mind at this time.

Virgo strives for purity and perfection. Most Virgos I know are extremely hard on themselves. I'm really feeling this critical perfecting drive right now across all aspects of my being and life. I'm keeping myself out of the lack of self-worth and blame pit by reminding myself that we ALL have a right to be wrong. Our mistakes do indeed make us strong, as Joss Stone says in her song. At least they do when we are prepared to be honest with ourselves, take responsibility and learn from them. Everybody has a right to their own opinion but we all get to choose if we want to take another's opinion on as our own. This is a bigger and deeper issue and theme in some people's lives than others. Freedom comes with not minding what anybody else thinks and not imposing restrictions on ourselves because of lack of self-worth and shame.

The way to be colourful and feel free and "light," or unencumbered by our "stuff" right now, is to own our mistakes, acknowledge any feelings of unworthiness and finally release them. I am talking about the "stuff" that has been buried so deep we may not have noticed it until yesterday, or today. If you have not had this experience it may rise to the surface in the coming days, or you aren't needing to process anything for yourself or the collective at this time. In which case, just enjoy the ride!!!!

As for the portal I spoke about earlier.... Well I'm not entirely sure how to describe it yet, but I do feel that once this solar plexus triggery-stuff is further processed, understood and assimilated in the collective, we will be more easily able to navigate between the different aspects of our being. Perhaps it is clearer to say that we will further integrate the different aspects of our being once we release the "stuff" we are currently being shown. This "stuff" is the what has been holding back or sabotaging the manifestation of our recent and current dreams. I also feel that many of us will suddenly appreciate that the form through which our dreams are being manifested is our integrated beings, not some outer structure. This may sound like old news to some, but my feeling is that our more integrated beings will be new and colourful in ways beyond anything we have been able to imagine. Also, there is much hidden wisdom to be unlocked within us under the influence of this Full Moon and planetary line-up. Dig deep, own what is in your shadow and shine bright in your own right!!

Don't forget to go outside tonight and soak up some lunar rays, if you haven't already. Enjoy!
